Education and Kids

At my job, we have everything we need to do our best.  We need to always make sure teachers have what they need to do their job. We should never rely on herculean volunteer donation efforts to get schools and teachers what they need. It should never be a question. 

Outsourcing education to private industry is giving up on public schools.

I believe in PUBLIC built and operated schools. We shouldn't manage growth by outsourcing our public education. And if we have to, it MUST be equitable. Though it's not a county level control, I do not believe in vouchers due to equity concerns or constitutional issues with the way public money is spent. 

Can single parents that spend three hours in their car every day to get to work really drive their kids to charter schools?

Full bellies learn better.

When I am hungry at work, I do not do my best. My wife when she gets hungry gets hangry! I believe a hungry children do not do their best in schools. I don't believe certain kids should get free lunch. I believe all kids should eat for free while they're at school. Remove the stigma of special programs for specific kids.

Just of note, Rutherford County North Carolina has free breakfast and lunch for kids, no questions asked! We can do it too.
